Last week was filled with excitements for Rory Mcllrroy because he was preparing hard to achieve something that no one has done in the last 23 years and that is, defending successfully at the US open.
The last player to perform this hard task was Curtis Strange and that also in the year 1989. It was the converting manner of strange’s Irish victory at the congressional in the last year. Everyone started believing that he was capable enough of back to back win.
In recent tournaments he has three missed cuts but in his current form he is having casting doubts. Though he showed improvement last week at the St Jude Classic in Memphis, but a poor form is not the finest ways to come into the Olympic Club.
This 23 year world number two believes that getting time for playing in the extra match will help him move one step further and when he has taken time off for preparation, it is best to play such games. He said in a recent conversation that this is not like this is the fourth tournament in a row and he is in some sort of disputation, but it drains you to some extent and also it takes out a lot both mentally and physically.
Starting weeks were not that tiring because he was on the range of hitting balls but now he is feeling like he had great four days up here. The soon he got to Memphis, he felt like he was straight into the finals and prior to Memphis he got some time to spend for getting pointers from the great golf legend Jack Nicklause, who spend a few days testing the changes that took place at the Olympic Club Layout in San Francisco.
