Singapore storm

Storms seem to be at daggers ends with Rory McIlroy’s road to winning tournaments. The previous tournament was also shortened to three rounds due to torrential rain and McIlroy was disappointed.

The same thing repeated at the Singapore tournament when he was level par after making eight holes. The only speck of hope that can help him win the Singapore Open now is the chance that Justin Rose and Brandan Grace have created by not participating in the Singapore Open. McIlroy also has a chance in the Hong Kong event as well because these two players are not playing in this one too.

Rory McIlroy missed the WGC Champions event held in China the previous week to the Singapore event in order to cheer for her tennis-player girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki at the tournament of Champions in Bulgaria. At the Singapore event, he started off his performance with a bogey and then went on to do a birdie at the fourth and fifth shot and dropped his second shot of the round. Just then the sirens went off for approaching dark clouds and the event was called off to his utter despair. McIlroy had been going great and would have made it even better if the clouds had not gathered in.

Currently world number one Rory McIlroy has had to face lot of questions regarding skipping the WGC champions. He defended it by saying it was not possible for a player to play every week. Besides, he also added that he just had to miss the event out because he was stressed after the Ryder Cup and the FedEx Cup and needed a timeout to keep the balance. He is also planning to reduce the number of events he would participate in from the next year.
